Peeped at the update of personal particulars of families of children at the centre.. To my huge surprise, many of their family income exceeds $5000.. It gt me tinkin wat a great amount is saved each mth.. Heh~ And so, i decided to analyse a couple's gross monthly income of $6000:

CPF = $1200

A $150,000 5-rm flat paid over 10 years = $1250

Ownership of a cheap car = $500

Meal money (couple + child) = $150 x 3 = $450

More expensive food fare = $200

Shopping / social events expenditure = $300

Cheap Childcare fees = $300

Allowance given to the parents = $400

Insurance for 3 = $400

And so, about $1000 is saved a mth. "! Sounds pathetic actually. And the sum frm CPF can only b acquired at age 55 (i tink).. Well.. Earning more is still better.. Goes to show how costly it is to survive in SG!
